Saturday December 2 Spotted a red-tailed hawk land in one of the trees along the Arborway, in the back of my back yard. It stayed long enough for me to get this video with my spotting scope. Wednesday December 6 On our walk through the Arb this afternoon, Susan and I saw half a dozen or so wasp nests. The pattern on the outside of this one appealed to us. Saturday December 9 On my morning walk with Maddie saw two muskrats swimming on the boat-house side of the pond and then three more, parked on downed logs, looking like chocolate spheres, by the bank on the opposite shore, munching on something. I've never seen so many before. The sunrise across the pond was spectacular. Tuesday December 12 Walking at Cutler Park in Newton with Susan and our friend, Ellen, we spotted this wasp nest that had fallen from the tree and broken open.
